McKenzie and Willis are the South Islands exclusive stockists of beautiful Belgian outdoor furniture brand Manutti . Their 2013/2014 collection is in store now and once again they have presented a range of elegant and exclusive designs which transpose the concept of the ‘indoor sitting room to outdoors’. Creating collections made from fabric designed specifically for outdoor use, and finishes with fine stitching in matching colours which transcend their ultimate purpose and bring a touch of class and elegance to gardens and terraces all over the world.
We sat down with our furniture manager Steve Gilbertson recently to discuss the new collection in store now.
How would you describe this beautiful brand to those who are not familiar with it?
The Manutti Brand is an outdoor range that encompasses design and elegance with materials that are made to last. We have a wide range of designs in store that can cater for a small balcony setting to the large modular seating ranges like the San Diego, where components can come together to give the comfort of indoors outside.
What sets Manutti apart from other outdoor furniture brands?
The use of the best purpose made outdoor materials which mean that they can be put outside and forgotten about. From the aluminium frames, quick dry foams, durable wicker and purpose made outdoor fabrics; Manutti is made with minimal maintenance in mind and maximum comfort.
What are your favourite pieces from this new Manutti range?
I would have to say the San Diego, just because it is so flexible. There are a dozen different modular pieces in this huge range which means that you can get the best out of the space you have by designing the right size setting. And with the big range of coffee tables and dining furniture you can turn your outdoor space into something inspirational.
What is your best piece of advice for taking care of and keeping your Manutti furniture looking its very best?
That’s the easy part, with the woven wicker furniture there very little to do to keep it looking its best. The only piece of advice I can give would be to place the cushions inside during the winter months to get the most out of them. Other than that, just get outside and enjoy your outdoor furniture.
Tell us your number one tip for outdoor styling this summer…
Paying special attention to the size of the space you are working with would be my number one tip! You need to pick pieces that complement your outdoor living spaces rather than over take them or simply get lost. Your surroundings should also dictate the style of furniture you lean towards- are they classic or more contemporary? The range of styles and the nature of the modular pieces in the Manutti range will fit into any garden.
